Stephanie Whitfield, a Geologist and Senior Project Manager, joined Lark Environmental, Inc. in 2022 to contribute to the expansion of Lark’s services while enhancing her own expertise. Raised in southwestern Michigan, she was an avid rock collector from a young age which inspired her to pursue an education in geology. During college, she attended a geology field camp in Wyoming where she spent a summer and fell in love with the vast mountains and open spaces of the state. In 2003, she relocated to Casper, Wyoming with her husband to build a career in the environmental field.
Stephanie earned her B.S. in Geology from Western Michigan University and is a certified Professional Geologist in Wyoming. Prior to joining Lark, she accumulated over 20 years of experience specializing in complex, environmental remediation projects. Her responsibilities included collecting various types of environmental samples, operating remediation systems, drafting routine environmental reports and permits, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and managing project budgets. In addition, she conducted Phase I and II environmental site assessments on a variety of industrial properties to facilitate redevelopment.
Since joining Lark, Stephanie has continued her role as a Senior Project Manager routinely overseeing subcontractors, supporting environmental assessments for NEPA compliance, and authoring numerous natural resource planning documents. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, snowshoeing, and exploring the mountains of Wyoming with her family and two dogs.
